Lisa Seebach
Earthy Liquids and Heavy Metal [Hypersleep]
11.08.2024 - 09.03.2025 ,
Lechner Museum (Lechner Museum)
The works of sculptor Lisa Seebach (*1981) unfold a dystopian space that leads from the measurable world into an imaginary reality. The starting point is the artist's hand drawings, which she stages as steel structures with ceramic elements. Abstract and mysteriously distorted, the sculptures suggest objects such as gas cylinders or oil drums, which thus become aesthetic actors in a poetic and enigmatic staging. This creates a paradoxical setting full of associative meta-narratives between post-apocalyptic science fiction and black utopia, inviting visitors to develop their own fictional narratives.
The new exhibition at the Lechner Museum (Lechner Museum) will be Lisa Seebach's largest solo museum exhibition to date. Numerous works from the last ten years will be on display on both floors of the museum, as well as new installations specially conceived for the exhibition spaces. With this exhibition, the Lechner Museum (Lechner Museum) sees itself as a platform to promote contemporary positions in sculpture beyond Alf Lechner.
