To mark her 100th birthday, the exhibition at the KASiMiRmuseum is showing a selection of Marlene Reidel's (20 December 1923 - 21 July 2014) most beautiful children's books.
Marlene Reidel's books have accompanied many generations as they have grown up and grown older. The early stories are already over 70 years old and yet are still relevant today. They are timeless because their themes are still relevant to children today, e.g. the desire to be able to cast spells or transform themselves. The little heroes of the books lead the adults around by the nose, travelling the world all by themselves or discovering their environment on their own.
Young and young-at-heart visitors can dream their way around the world with Kasimir and Lina, transform themselves with Antonia or defeat the robbers with Franz and his mice. The frog king Kunibert invites you to his pond, the colourful picture book is aimed at the very young and the music books by Marlene Reidel also appeal to the ear. With many interactive stations and an activity booklet, the exhibition invites visitors to make their own discoveries without forgetting the playful aspects, e.g. in the giant rally. Along the way, you can discover the artist's paintings in more detail and take a look at various books. Each room also has the original book for those who want to read it again in detail. Visitors can also enjoy an audio station and three films with stories by the artist in Antonia's witches' den.
Just drop by and dream along!
