For Art and Friendship - The Borgo Ensemble

In its series of exhibitions with Nuremberg artists' groups and associations, the Kunstvilla will be showing works by artists from the Borgo Ensemble around the Nuremberg object and performance artist Reiner Bergmann (born 1950) from October 2023. The artists' collective, founded by Reiner Bergmann in 2009, works repeatedly at different locations. Its greatest resonance to date came in 2013 with the exhibition series "Womöglich" in a studio building on the outskirts of Fürth. From 2014 to 2017, the Borgo Ensemble resided in the Porsche Centre, which had been cleared for demolition, as an interim use.

Since 2019, the Borgo Ensemble has been based in a former post office on Holzschuherstraße in the Sündersbühl district. In addition to the exhibitions curated by artists, the focus is on interdisciplinary and intergenerational exchange and socialising. Music plays an important role, which is also alluded to in the name of the artists' group. Music is played and debated, philosophised and fabricated together. The Kunstvilla presents the main protagonists in a group exhibition.
