For me, the step from relief to free-standing sculpture is a consistent further development in my artistic creative process. My focus is on aesthetic reduction. In the past, I have worked intensively with mass phenomena and their choreographic processes, such as snapshots from football stadiums, swarm movements and city panoramas. I am currently focussing my work on singular objects, some of which I remove from their original context, rearrange, mirror, alienate and reduce to their essential characteristics in my understanding. In my creative process, sculpture is a field of experimentation that represents a further step in my preoccupation with three-dimensional objects and the exploration of the possibilities of working with fractures. At the same time, I am interested in architectural fractures (produced by me using jacks) in panel painting and sculpture.
