Making visible what remains hidden - Judith Karcheter's works are more than just visual appearances. Clear forms meet subtle narrative structures, colourful compositions evoke poetic associations, the precise arrangement in space testifies to conceptual strength. Every object, every wall piece and every performative gesture follows a well thought-out choreography.

The motifs arise from random, sensual everyday situations. The artist records her impressions with sketches, photos, found objects or text notes. She condenses these experiences in an ongoing, iterative work process. Her archive is both a repository and a mirror of biographical and geographical impulses - for example from travelling, most recently to Brazil. Photographs taken there appear incidental, but on closer inspection reveal a formal precision. In exhibitions, they appear like poetic side notes that shed new light on the everyday.
