For decades, Rudi Tröger has been one of the quiet loners among the painters of his generation. - With works from six decades, Kunsthaus Kaufbeuren (Art house Kaufbeuren) pays tribute to the Bavarian painter in a retrospective exhibition whose work has never before been examined so comprehensively.

Rudi Tröger, who never sought publicity with his painting, always worked more in silence. Away from current "trends" and avant-gardes, he developed a style of painting that may seem "out of time" at times, but is all the more timeless and stands alone. His oeuvre is neither associated with the name of a group nor with a particular direction - rather, it remains singular.
