With "InformELLE - Women Artists of the 1950s/60s", Kunsthalle Schweinfurt (Schweinfurt Art Gallery) is presenting the first exhibition to shed light on informal abstract art from a female perspective. From 21 February to 22 June 2025, around 85 works by 16 female artists will be on display, including Maria Lassnig, Judit Reigl and Mary Bauermeister - a long overdue tribute. The exhibition shows how these artists fought for their place in art history despite structural resistance. A comprehensive, bilingual catalogue will be published by Deutscher Kunstverlag to accompany the exhibition.
