Comeback

Since 2015, the municipal art space Kunstarkaden (Art Arcades) has presented the "arkadenale" exhibition series every two years. For the 6th edition in 2025, we have invited artists who have lived and worked in Munich in the past but have left for very different reasons: Florian Athanatos-Baumgartner / Gina Bolle / Diogo da Cruz / Nezaket Ekici / Tom Früchtl / Aron Herdrich / Simone Kesting / Simone Lanzenstiel / Anne Linke / PnikPnik / John Schmitz / Albert Weis / Guido Weggenmann / Kazuyo Yabuuchi / Benjamin Zuber
For the "arkadenale" 2025, they are now returning with new perspectives, current works and personal stories in their luggage.

The exhibition shows the artistic positions of the returnees in a coherent presentation. This "comeback" is more than a purely geographical reunion: the exhibition opens up a dialogue between earlier work and current practice, between individual life paths and the artists' collective experience of the city.
Munich becomes a resonating space for memories, ruptures, developments - and new connections.
