01.04.2026 - 30.06.2026 ,
Kultur- und Militärmuseum (Culture and Military Museum)
The nationwide travelling exhibition “Germans from Russia – Past and Present”, organised by the Association of Germans from Russia (Landsmannschaft der Deutschen aus Russland e. V.), explores the history of the Russian-German community through historical events and personal life stories. It traces the origins back to Catherine the Great, covering the development and economic boom within the Russian Empire, right through to the difficult times of persecution and deportation. The exhibition also highlights current challenges and successful examples of integration. The aim of the exhibition is to break down prejudices and foster greater acceptance of one of the largest immigrant groups in Germany.
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI).
The exhibition can be viewed from 1 April to 30 June 2026 in the foyer of the Grafenwöhr Culture and Military Museum during opening hours: Sun, Tue, Wed, Thu from 2 pm to 5 pm.
