Frankfurt-based artist Chunqing Huang offers completely new and unusual perspectives on the most famous artists of Expressionism and Classical Modernism. In her "Portraits" of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and his artistic environment, one searches in vain for human figures. Huang takes colour, brushwork and other typical elements from the artists' works and develops her own abstract visual language from them. In this way, she achieves the special feat of portraying not the people, but their work.
