In the age of digitalisation and artificial intelligence, do we still need drawings that were made by hand in the old-fashioned way? We say a resounding yes, and present over 100 drawings from mos allgäu (Montessori Fachoberschule für Gestaltung) and Urban Sketchers Kempten in the joint exhibition Handgezeichnet.
Museum illustrator Roger Mayrock regularly passes on his knowledge to trainees at mos allgäu. Historical scenes are created on paper or tablet based on scientific facts. Central themes come from all areas of Kempten's history.
The "Urban Sktechers" are concerned with the present of the Allgäu metropolis. A loose group of sketchers meet regularly at various places in Kempten and put down on paper what they see and perceive at that moment. The works are more about the authentic moment than drawing perfection. This makes them part of a worldwide movement.
