On the subject of archaeology in Sudan.
A team from the State Museum of Egyptian Art in Munich has been excavating and restoring artefacts in Sudan for a decade. The excavation site of Naga is the southernmost city of the Kingdom of Meroë (300 BC - AD 300) and thus also the gateway for influences from the interior of Africa. In the medium of ceramics, the role of ancient Sudan as a cultural bridge between Africa and Egypt - and beyond to the Mediterranean region - can be traced back to the 10th millennium BC.
