The Burgauer Landtafel of 1613 is a masterpiece of cartography. Countless details give a vivid impression of the appearance of central Swabia and a whole host of scenes provide an insight into people's lives 400 years ago. Created by Johann Andreas Rauch on behalf of Margrave Karl von Burgau, it hung in Günzburg Castle for around 200 years. The damaged original is now kept in the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum (Bavarian National Museum).
Werner Malcher from Altenmünster had a reproduction made in the original size (almost 3x3 metres) so that the map could be returned to its original location after another 200 years.
