The exhibition is dedicated to the life and work of the sculptor Georg Friedrich Theiler (1748–1826). Baptised in the parish church of St Nicholas, Theiler grew up in Ebermannstadt. He is thought to have spent his apprenticeship with the Bamberg sculptor Martin Mutschelle from 1766 onwards, before later returning to his hometown.
Drawing on archival sources, handwritten letters and historical accounts, the exhibition traces Theiler’s life journey.
Visitors can expect a concise insight into the artistic output and local significance of a craftsman whose legacy remains visible in Ebermannstadt and the surrounding region to this day.
