Maps document history, they tell stories, and sometimes they also attempt to make history with illusory or polemic content that occasionally touches on or even crosses the line into alternative facts. The special exhibition From Rock to Sea - Germany on Maps from Six Centuries will be showing examples of this. It presents the map as an information medium, teaching aid and mood-setter, but also as a work of art and piece of jewellery.
