Moritz Holfelder has been photographing waves and water surfaces since he was ten years old. The motifs have remained the same, but he has developed his own unique perspective: Holfelder explores the rhythm of the waves, studies currents and has developed a feel for spray. From the shore, he shows the threatening forces of the oceans, and the sea as a living organism that seems to breathe in the breaking and breaking of the surf. His pictures refer to the mythical relationship between man and water - the people in the pictures appear tiny and defenceless in the face of the elemental force of the sea.
In addition to vagues wellen waves, photographs from the series Membran and Schiffe an Land can also be seen.
