Michaela Bruckmüller - Deeper than the day
05.09.2025 - 09.11.2025 ,
Haus der Fotografie Dr. Robert-Gerlich-Museum (House of Photography Dr. Robert Gerlich Museum)
Austrian photographer Michaela Bruckmüller explores the darkness and depth of the black pictorial space, which only becomes tangible through light. A brightly coloured world of plants and animals emerges from the infinity of black. As if cut out, lichens, flowers and roots have left their judgemental, categorising and time-limited surroundings and represent liveliness and transience as sharply drawn protagonists. Bruckmüller's photographic series visualise symbiotic interweaving and transformation in the moment of transition and question themes such as dependency, communication, absence and timelessness.
The exhibition is part of the exhibition project TOGETHER FOREVER ∙ Subdue the Earth, which focuses on the relationship between humans and nature. This major theme will be explored at four Bavarian institutions by means of different artistic positions: DG Kunstraum Munich, St Paul Munich and VerpackereiGÖ in Görisried.
