Exhibition of paintings, drawings and works on paper from 1961 to 1999 at Galerie Noah (Gallery Noah) in Augsburg's Glaspalast.

Walter Stöhrer (1937-2000) was one of the "rebellious loners" in German art. As one of the main representatives of gestural-figurative painting, he had a lasting influence on the national art scene. "I am not an abstract painter, I am a figurative painter", Stöhrer said about himself, and his very personal, emotionally charged artistic approach was logically defined as "intrapsychic realism".

Characteristic of his works is the colourful, free interplay of painting, writing and drawing with figurative and expressive-gestural means of expression. Literary texts - especially ancient philosophers and French surrealists - as well as musical ideas often provided him with inspiration for his painterly and graphic works.
