Objets trouvés (found materials) are everyday or natural objects that are turned into works of art. The two sculptors Robert Bisl and Daniel Engelberg work with them. Robert Bisl designs new objects from building materials and leftover pieces, using metals such as stainless steel, copper and brass. There are human stories behind many of his objects. Some tell of how he, as a deaf artist, wishes for a life without barriers. Robert Bisl, an art locksmith by training and profession, has dedicated his art to metal design. His works have already been shown in various international and national exhibitions.
With geometric shapes and bright colours, Daniel Engelberg bridges the gap between sculpture and painting. He transforms architectural impressions from everyday life into a high-quality material complex on MDF panels. Engelberg uses innovative techniques that he has developed over the years. The new form has a tactile effect and is created through balanced colour gradients, overlaps and changes in perspective. This gives his works a highly aesthetic appearance with a strong visual and three-dimensional effect, even creating an optical illusion.
