More than 8,500 kilometres as the crow flies separate the two partner biosphere reserves Rhön and "Kruger to Canyons" in South Africa. At first glance, the differences could hardly be greater. Two worlds existing side by side with no overlaps? Quite the opposite!
In the exhibition "Parallels", photographer Markus Büttner shows the beauty of both regions, emphasises contrasts and also reveals surprising similarities. His photographs open up exciting perspectives and invite you to discover connections where you wouldn't expect them.
In the "Art in the Open-Air Museum" series, which was launched in 2021, artists from the region present their works in the special setting of the historic museum buildings.
The exhibition can be seen on several floors of the Truchsess House in Oberhohenried during the museum's regular opening hours.
