Historical everyday life was colourful! Since the Middle Ages, houses have been coloured inside and out, always in keeping with the times - from coloured half-timbering to painted plaster facades, stencil painting, roller decoration and wallpaper. in the 20th century, from two-dimensional monochrome to filigree-figures. The exhibition not only presents the main epochs of wall design, it also explains the everyday life and tasks of the painter, goes into the composition of colours and explains which restoration methods can be used to uncover and find historical layers of paint. Anyone who has visited the exhibition will not only walk through the museum grounds with more open eyes!
