Programme highlights for aircraft fans: On 17 July, a special exhibition entitled "Light and Shadow - the Antonov Story" will open at Flugwerft Schleißheim about Antonov Airlines, which once operated the world's largest aircraft, the An-225 Mrya, until the Russian war of aggression. On the following weekend, 19 and 20 July, you can also experience Junkers F 13 replicas at the Deutsches Museum (German Museum) branch, marvel at the Transall transport aircraft in the outdoor area, watch the finale of the Junkers A50 Junior Tour live and talk to the pilot.
84 metres long, with a wingspan of 88.4 metres and a maximum take-off weight of 640 tonnes: The six-engine Antonov AN-225 Mrya was once the largest aircraft in the world. The imposing aircraft was largely destroyed during Russia's attack on Ukraine in February 2022. "This is the shadow, so to speak, that lies over the success story of Antonov Airlines," says Robert Kluge. The acting director of the Flugwerft has brought a photo exhibition about the air freight company to Oberschleissheim.
