Tandems consisting of a pupil and a teacher develop new forms of design teaching together with designers.
The fact that people shape themselves and their environment with everything they do is becoming an increasingly important realisation. Understanding the increasingly complex transformation processes as design tasks requires a design competence developed from research, experimentation and action. How this competence can be trained and taught in school lessons is the central question of the wedesign project.
The project "wedesign - Design and Sustainability in the Classroom" was launched by the art 131 Foundation, which is affiliated with the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs, in cooperation with the Bünemann Foundation and the Neue Sammlung with the aim of motivating pupils, students and teachers to jointly explore the possibilities of design in the classroom. Design is not only seen from the point of view of the designed product, but also as a possibility to actively shape one's own living environment and a sustainable future.
