The Max Dudler office and the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (Bavarian State Library) will present the work and annual exhibition "Max Dudler - Building for Books" from 20 October 2023 to 4 February 2024 in the library's magnificent staircase and Fürstensaal. The show approaches the work of architect Max Dudler in the field of library construction from various angles. Outstanding works of the architect in the library sector include, for example, the Diözesanbibliothek in Münster - Max Dudler's first built library, the Jacob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm-Zentrum of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the Stadtbibliothek in Heidenheim and the Staats- und Stadtbibliothek in Augsburg, which is currently under construction.
Visitors are introduced to the library buildings through models, photographs, films, visualisations, plans or competition designs in various formats.

An important focus of the exhibition is the presentation of the construction project of the Staats- und Stadtbibliothek Augsburg (Augsburg State and City Library), which, as one of the ten regional state libraries in Bavaria, is directly subordinate to the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (Bavarian State Library).
