Klaus Soppe is a master of pictorial storytelling. Not only his figurative compositions, but also atmospheric landscapes and staged still lifes hold exciting stories. His trademark are shimmering luminous paintings, elaborated with the greatest care and sometimes mysterious. Only at a distance do fine strokes in clearly defined colour reduced to a few tones condense into sculptural spaces and motifs.
