This time, the focus in 19 museums is on everything magical - from materials with special powers, mythical figures, legends and fairy tales to enchanting music, mysterious substances and devices or the magic of art in general, in the sense of beauty, delicacy and aesthetics.
beauty, delicacy and aesthetics.
This magic can be found, for example, in the birdcatcher Papageno, one of the many bronze birds by sculptor Reinhard Dachlauer on display at the MiK. It is on loan from the MAD - Museum am Dom Würzburg (Museum at the Cathedral Würzburg): the pen and ink drawing "Papageno" by KRAM (Karl-Heinz Kramhöller), created in 1982.
In their spontaneous immediacy, Kram's pen and ink drawings exude a magical aura. They enchant with enigmatic or humorous narrative strands and captivate with their confident mastery of the drawing ground. A fantastic hybrid creature of bird and human unfolds from a dense network of lines. Labelled Papageno, it takes us into the magical world of Mozart's Magic Flute.
