Andrea Tiebel-Quast was born in Bad-Saarow in 1970 and grew up in Cottbus. In 1985 she left East Germany and lived in Lower Saxony for 14 years. This period marked the beginning of her artistic activity. Since 1999 Andrea Tiebel-Quast has been working as a visual artist in Baden-Württemberg. Her works can now be seen throughout Germany and internationally. In 2020, she would be nominated for the St. Leopold Peace Prize and the Annegret Zawischa Prize.
The artist works conceptually and in groups of works. Her artistic focus is on painting, sculpture, installation and performance. In the use of unusual materials and objects, new impressions are revealed to the viewer, which transport the artist's philosophically and politically influenced thoughts.
