Peter Seidel endeavours to depict the rooms in a way that does justice to the dignity of these sacred places and to document every last corner of them photographically, and so his pictures open a window through which the viewer can immerse themselves in the history of the Jewish ritual baths.
The travelling exhibition was conceived as a joint show by the Jewish Museums of Franconia, Frankfurt am Main, Hohenems and Vienna. In 17 large-format photographs, it shows the architectural
architectural diversity of Jewish ritual baths from antiquity to the present day, across national borders.
