Modernism was above all also a movement of social, architectural and educational utopias. From the ideas of Expressionism and Futurism, abstraction and concretion, artists developed concepts for a new construction of the world between the wars. Artists' groups and political as well as artistic initiatives emerged in various places, such as the "November Group" or the "Working Council for Art".

Now, for the first time in southern Germany, a selection of the visual work of Wenzel Hablik from the rich holdings of the Wenzel Hablik Museum in Itzehoe will be on display at the Kunstmuseum Bayreuth (Bayreuth Art Museum) in the festival summer of 2023.
