Since the early 2000s, Herwig Kemmerich has been exploring the design of landscapes and interventions in nature. The defining characteristic of "Land Art" is the creative, preferably minimalist and often radical intervention in a landscape to create a three-dimensional, always site-specific and often ephemeral work of art that changes the immediate experience of landscape and environment and provokes an intensified perception of space.

In the solo exhibition in Wechterswinkel, the sculptor's aesthetic investigations into attack, defence and escape mechanisms and fantasies serve as the basis for his artistic realisation. He shows sculptures and objects from the years 2005-2022 and develops spatial interventions in and around the monastery complex.
