Maria Braune - Keep away from fire

The Professional Association of Visual Artists (BBK) Nuremberg Central Franconia, in cooperation with the Künstlerhaus in the KunstKulturQuartier, once again presents a debutante.

Maria Braune, (b.: 1988 in Berlin) studied free art at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste (Academy of Fine Arts) in Munich after a classical training as a wood sculptor in Berchtesgaden and graduated in 2017.
Her artistic research explores the connection between needs, human social behaviour and salubrity (medically: healthy, physical condition). This has been supported with various grants and award nominations.
At the centre of her work is a self-developed material consisting of various, naturally renewable raw materials, which is heated, cast and shaped over a period of several weeks. Works and installations are created that make reference to growth, symbiosis and decay and allow ruptures, changes, but also sensual formations to proliferate in the space.
