Last year, the city archive was able to acquire a small pencil drawing of Lauf Castle by Carl Spitzweg (1808-1885) at the art market. The artist, who came from Munich
travelled throughout Europe and several times through the Nuremberg region, constantly fleeing from cholera. The sketch was made according to the artist's own handwritten notes on the small sheet on 8 July 1860.
A small studio exhibition presents the print and the circumstances surrounding its creation.
