The Nuremberg Hop Merchant and Banker Family Hopf

16.03.2021 - 11.06.2023 ,
Kunstvilla im KunstKulturQuartier (Art Villa in the KunstKulturQuartier)

The Kunstvilla uses the anniversary year "1700 Years of Jewish Life in Germany" as an occasion to commemorate the family that built the building and their achievements. The exhibition presents the achievements of individual family members in the fields of politics and the women's movement, culture and science, as well as their patronage. It incorporates donations that the Kunstvilla has received from the Hopf family in recent years, including a paper theatre and portraits of individual family members, including Felix Mayer-Felice and Max Unold. The result is a vivid portrait of a family whose work is still visible today in foundations such as the Nuremberg Künstlerhaus and the Mittelfränkisches Blindenheim.
