Father and daughter are exhibiting together.
One motif features in the work of both painters and has therefore given this exhibition its name. However, their interpretations of the motif could not be more different!
Both artists create reverse-glass paintings, executed in intensely vibrant oil colours.
Peter Dichtl reinterprets motifs by Franz Marc, giving free rein to his own distinctive style. Often, the picture formats seem insufficient; the motifs extend right out to the co-designed frames.
Christina Dichtl presents a variety of reverse-glass paintings. Realistically painted motifs, often combined with metals, showcase the beauty of local wildlife. Viewers get up close to the mirror images and become part of the picture themselves. Another series of works features abstract experiments. These are also often combined with fragments of mirror. Transparency and the casting of shadows lend these works an additional dimension.
However, the exhibition is not limited to reverse-glass art. Take, for example, the large-format work ‘Third Swarm Behaviour’, comprising approximately 20,000 small pieces. Only upon a second, closer look can one discern what this work is made of. Come and be surprised!
Opening on Friday 12 June 2026 at 7.30 pm
Exhibition: 13–28 June 2026, Saturdays and Sundays from 3 pm to 6 pm
