With his exhibition "Stadt.Land.Dahoam." (City.Country.Home), photographer Günter Uschold deliberately focuses his attention on the obvious: Oberviechtach and the surrounding region. After numerous photographic journeys across all continents, he now devotes himself to his own homeland – with a trained eye, artistic ambition and a keen sense of lighting moods and perspective.
The works on display open up new perspectives on the supposedly familiar. Familiar motifs appear surprising, details come to the fore, perspectives shift. In doing so, Uschold moves between documentary accuracy and artistic interpretation. Technical sophistication – for example, through deliberate image composition or perspective condensation – remains a means to an end: what is decisive is the conscious gaze.
"Stadt. Land. Dahoam." invites you to rediscover Oberviechtach – not as a picture-postcard idyll, but as a multi-layered, atmospheric landscape that is worth looking at closely.
