For Rotunda Project No. 9, Die Neue Sammlung - The Design Museum is developing a theme that explores the idea of "sitting as a collective experience" and "sitting as a form of communication". For one year, visitors to the Pinakothek der Moderne (Pinacotheca of the Modern) will be welcomed by a landscape of different seating furniture. They invite people to take a seat and enter into communication. The encounter between museum visitors is staged as social seating in the museum space. The focus here is on the possibility of open communication between museum visitors, but also on people's relationship to sitting and the seating objects.
