The beauty of imperfection

In the exhibition 'The Beauty of the Imperfect', the DG Kunstraum presents works by eleven Cusanuswerk scholarship holders. The exhibition is dedicated to the question of how beauty manifests itself in forms of rupture, simplicity and transience. On display are artistic positions that take healing and injury as their starting point. In this context, healing does not necessarily mean restoration in the classical sense. It can also consist of accepting the imperfect.
Especially in a time characterised by the pressure to optimise, acceleration and smooth surfaces, 'The Beauty of Imperfection' invites us to open our eyes to the fragile anew: Fractures, scars and traces of time only reveal their depth beyond first appearances - they demand more attention and devotion.
