If you cross the European Green Belt from west to east, you can experience three very different landscapes over a short distance of just 15 kilometres:
the Bavarian farming landscape modernised by land consolidation
the landscape of socialist collectivisation
and the "disorder in between", the Green Belt: a landscape in which the landforms of medieval land appropriation have been preserved in places as an unintended side effect of military rule along the Iron Curtain
A landscape in which nature only superficially covers history - three landscapes with a future - every step an invitation to reflect.
The exhibition "15 kilometres | 3 landscapes" presents the changes to the landscapes along the Green Belt in the area of the Upper Palatinate Forest and Bohemian Forest in an artistic, playful, experimental and yet technically sound manner.
You are invited to view and participate:
artistically designed, interactive landscape models & actors in the landscape from the 19th century to the present by Josef Sodomka and Valentýna Jungwirthová
Collectivisation and land reorganisation: transformation of the landscape under socialism and the social market economy
Landscapes of the Present by Zuzana Karlíková and Jindřiška Jonešová
Landscape in art: Šumava interpreted by Josef Váchal and Alfred Kubin
Workshop Future of the Landscape
Curators of the exhibition: Veronika Hofinger, Jan Šícha
The exhibition is the result of the "Zukunftsregion Grünes Band" project, funded by the BYCZFöR funding guideline of the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Home Affairs (StMFH)
