The exhibition "Karl Valentin und die alten Rittersleut" at Grünwald Castle - a joint project of the Munich association Forum Humor und komische Kunst and the Archaeological State Collection - takes up the fascination that uniforms, knights and the Middle Ages exerted on Karl Valentin (and also on his partner Liesl Karlstadt) and his entire artistic life.

Grünwald Castle, with its eventful history, served the comedian Karl Valentin as a retreat and inspiration for his famous mocking song "Ja, so war's, die altn Rittersleut". The well-known classic is still sung and rewritten today.
