The new permanent exhibition at the Stadtmuseum Burghausen (Burghausen City Museum):
In lively presentations, visitors can discover the natural environment that characterises Burghausen with the Salzach and the Wöhrsee. Entertaining and informative research stations explain the habitat of the Salzach river with its characteristic features such as the neighbouring floodplains, the beech hillside forests and the Salzach breakthrough "Burghauer Enge". The Wöhrsee basin, a glacial oxbow lake of the Salzach, is presented with its wildlife and in particular the Northern Bald Ibis project.
With the help of light projections, numerous animal specimens and interactive hands-on stations such as a stone quiz, a guessing game about animal sounds or a tower building puzzle, there are exciting things to learn about the Salzach, the Wöhrsee basin and its animal inhabitants such as the Northern bald ibis, beaver, huchen, bat and eagle owl.
