Botanischer Garten München-Nymphenburg (Botanical Garden Munich-Nymphenburg)
Humid tropical areas, cool tropical mountain forests or hot deserts - what will it be? In the over 4500 m² of greenhouses, visitors embark on a botanical journey around the world. Around 16,000 plant species give the Botanical Garden in Munich, built in 1914 and one of the most important in the world, a constantly changing appearance. An arboretum and a systemic section provide insight into relationships and ecological requirements of plants. The 20-hectare garden is also a wonderful place to simply stroll around and enjoy the splendour. The Munich Botanical Garden has a branch, the Alpengarten am Schachen (Alpine garden at Schachen) in the Wetterstein Mountains, which is about 1 hectare in size.
