Babette von Dohnanyi, who was born in Munich, has an address in Hamburg and a studio in Florence. Growing up in Cologne as the daughter of a politician, she sought and found her own personal path. She discovered her love for Florence at an early age, where she opened her own workshop and became self-employed after successfully attending the Kaufbeuren-Neugablonz State Vocational School for Glass and Jewellery.
Babette von Dohnanyi's jewellery is unusual and edgy. One of her trademarks is the characteristic shape of the pentagon, which is constantly reinterpreted in many variations. Her small and multi-faceted works of art in crystalline structures look like sculptures to which she is able to lend a very special radiance. The range of materials she uses is broad, but primarily of mineral origin.
