In his work, Aschheim-based artist Bernhard Süßbauer explores the fundamental questions of humanity. His sculptures made of wood, stone, bronze or papier-mâché show figures that oscillate between exaggeration and simplification - always in search of the essential.
For three months, selected works by Süßbauer will stand alongside the exhibits in the AschheiMuseum. This creates a reciprocal relationship between events and objects from Aschheim's history and us as viewers. The flute playing of the deliberately striding man, for example, brings to mind familiar sounds, sounds like stories that have accompanied and guided people since time immemorial - told on one of the oldest instruments known to mankind. The focus is not on facts and figures, but on people themselves - with their expression, their posture, their inner movement. A dialogue that also involves us today as viewers.
The exhibition invites you to pause, allow the figures to have an effect on you and give space to your own perception.
