With the exhibition *Unequal Scenes & Salt Works*, the Amerikahaus München presents two key bodies of work by the American photographer Johnny Miller. His works combine documentary precision with extraordinary visual power and open up new perspectives on society, landscape and the way in which people shape their environment.
For his internationally renowned series *Unequal Scenes*, Miller uses drones to depict cities and urban spaces. The aerial photographs vividly visualise the transitions, boundaries and divisions between different neighbourhoods and territories. From above, spatial structures become visible that often remain hidden at ground level: walls, roads, rivers and property boundaries mark the transitions between different living environments and make economic and social inequalities immediately tangible.
