Micaiah Carter — Tender Heart

This photo exhibition is a visual meditation on legacy, memory, and the evolving nature of identity. Across generations and through intimate gestures, this work charts a personal and collective journey – where the past is not fixed but resides in the present, layered into our skin, our style, and our homes. Micaiah Carter was born into reinvention, and each image embodies that truth: Black identity is fluid, tender, resilient, and constantly renewed.

This show shifts between archival and contemporary photographs, family and strangers, domestic interiors and surreal stillness, revealing a suspended space where time stretches and folds. It is not merely a return to what was but an imagination of what lies ahead.
