Our world is changing – and so are the Alps! Climate change is not only leading to particularly drastic changes in temperature and precipitation in the Alps, with consequences for natural hazards, flora, fauna and biodiversity. Adaptation processes are also affecting the Alpine region and mountain sports: new energy facilities, the redesign and/or expansion of tourist destinations, the refurbishment of huts and trails, and changes to mountain sports activities.
Together with staff and members of the Alpine clubs, students from LMU Munich, CIPRA Germany and other experts, we are examining the impacts of climate change and looking for ways to respond to our changing future.
