United by Jazz

The exhibition “United by Jazz” is literally filled with music. It explores what continues to connect art and jazz to this day.
Through a rich selection of works by photographers and artists, the exhibition demonstrates how jazz continues to inspire remarkable responses in photography and art. The close ties between jazz and the visual arts can be experienced in sensory spaces where photographic, auditory, artistic and typographic formats, as well as objects and installations, are interwoven. The nature of the presentation pays tribute to the multifaceted relationship between jazz and the visual arts. One section explores the themes of jazz, jazz venues and jazz labels in Munich.
But it is not only art that awaits the audience. At listening stations featuring selected works, jazz composers bring the exhibition to life. In this way, the Pasinger Fabrik creates a vast space for the interdisciplinary encounter between jazz and the visual arts. A concert series curated by Stefanie Boltz completes this unique project.
