Wind power - power from nature with technology from Schweinfurt

Wind power was already being used for mechanical purposes in ancient times. Windmills were used as early as the 7th century and were still in operation in Germany until the 1950s.
With the industrial revolution in the 19th century, the steam engine took over the drive of machines, but was quickly replaced by electric drives. In the 1970s, people once again turned their attention to free energy from nature, and the oil crisis marked the beginning of the success story of wind turbines for generating electricity, which continues to this day.
